Burningflame had left camp as soon as Cloudrunner had told her that the Dark Forest had control over the events on the current Leafbare. No wonder it had been so bad... All the prey gone... They'd been scaring it all away, and keeping the snow coming. The red and yellow she-cat followed the river and ran along the side of the lake. She ran and ran. Maybe she'd see Leafpaw... Maybe. Burningflame stopped as she was nearing the Moonpool. The she-cat heard a twig crack behind her, and whipped around, eyes wide. There was no one there. The she-cat gulped, taking a deep breath. "Stop being paranoid..." She meowed to herself, padding towards the pool. She drew another deep breath, and entered. The moonpool shone in her eyes. She closed her golden pools and sighed, padding towards gently. Just as she was about to lie down, she heard a rock skid across the floor. She shot around again, shivering. This was a mistake, coming on her own. She hoped it wasn't a FireClanner. "Show yourself!" The she-cat meowed, eyes narrowed, watching for the slightest movement. Perhaps it was nothing, maybe just a mouse or something. Burningflame drew more breaths, trying to calm herself. "Come on... Calm... Be calm..." She meowed quietly. "You're just hearing things..." She closed her eyes, and layed down beside the Moonpool. She placed a paw in the water, making little expanding rings. She watched them go and return, and Burningflame then took a few laps of water from the pool. The medicine cat grew weary, and let her paw dip in the water. Her eyelids drooped, and she yawned, curling her tail around her forepaw. Burningflame placed her head between her forelegs, and fell asleep there, still worried about anyone behind her. [Anyone wanna be a StarClanner for me?]

As Burningflame appeared in her dream state, Badgersong stood before her. He purred, glad to see a Clan cat's face. He wanted to nuzzle her head, but he would stay calm, and not show his happiness to a possibly confused Clan cat.

Badgersong looked at her with his green-yellow eyes, and meowed at her. "Finally, it's a pleasure to see another Clan cat. These are dark times. The Dark Forest has blocked us from communicating with the cats below and..." Badgersong cut himself off, and then continued with a different subject. "I'm sorry, I started to talk off.. What is it you have contacted us for?"

The black and white tabby had stars hidden in his short fur, and eyes that you coul tell he was trying to keep calm. He was a fairly big cat, but that seemed to be the only thing slightly imposing. He bowed his head, showing that he was now respecting what the other cat had to say.

So it was true. The Dark Forest had been blocking them out. She nodded slowly. "Cloudrunner had just been to the moonpool. He told me the Dark Forest had taken over... He said if I wanted to contact StarClan, I'd have to come here. I haven't had any signs at all recently..." She meowed. "I came here to speak with you. I saw the red moon on the night of the Gathering... Perhaps, if we defeat Fireclan, the Dark Forest cats shall be driven away? How are they taking over from the place of no stars? I thought it was impossible to do such a thing..." She mused, looking at the floor.

Badgersong blinked his eyes, and looked down at the the ground as well. He looked up again, into the sky above, covered by trees. "Not even StarClan knows why the Dark Forest can do this.. Maybe it is because of the amount of cats who don't believe in us, that we cannot change anything. Maybe its a lack of our will, the lack of the Clan cat's will.. The Dark Forest is much stronger than us this leafbare, and getting a stray line of sunshine is nearly impossible.." Badgersong seemed to be telling Burningflame like this a was a theory. He didn't look entirely confident in what he said. His look strayed. "Defeating FireClan, whether it will cure this or not, is in the best interest for the Clans. We've made little contact with cats lately, and I'm not even sure our prophecies have gone through all the way.."
