Leopardheart was standing guard when Twinestar called her and Burningflame. Leopardheart walked inside of his den, and sat down. "Twinestar, Burningflame. Shadestar's put us in a hard situation. Let me throw in a mouse-tail on the matter.
I know that most of the time I'm compassionate towards cats, especially in my Clan. But, Burningflame got a.. hunch.. that Shadestar was planning an attack this night," Leopardheart whispered, making sure that Shadestar couldn't hear. "We can't give them the land. Not without a fight. I'm not certain about my stance on this, I'll say right now, since he could give his cats permission to kill some of ThunderClan's cats." Leopardheart breathed in deeply, and closed her green eyes, and curled his tail around her paws. "However, if we give him the land, we're giving him more territory near the lake, and territory by the river. We all know that the river is important for our prey. We're handing all of that territory over to ShadowClan, but most of all, FireClan. We don't even have an estimate of how many cats they have in their territory. But, if ShadowClan is starving, which Shadestar and his daughter's ribs don't even suggest, and they have the biggest territory in the forest, that means that they're harboring many cats. If your cats aren't constantly dying of sickness and hunger, and if their cats are so hungry, I don't even want to guess at their numbers."
Leopardheart rose to her paws, and began pacing around his den. "By giving the land to ShadowClan, we're doing nothing but feeding FireClan, and endangering our Clan, along with others. And we all know that Shadestar can't keep his word, so what if he does tell of taking the territory? And attacks you, Burningflame, when you go to get herbs. This would make everybody weaker. Think about it!" Leopardheart hissed the last part, her eyes mere slits by the end. Her brown fur was shadowed in Twinestar's den, and her fur was standing up, as she froze, and stared Burningflame and Twinestar in the eyes. "We can't just hand it over to them. We should fight, though be watchful of the enemy's moves. We have a fair chance of winning; Shadestar's Clan is attacking, we're defending. It's common knowledge its easier to defend than attack."

the Cat* Twinestar the Noted* Erm not so sure the Number* 363
Twinestar watched his deputy carefully. "Leopardheart, how would we do it? Think of how many cats there must be, with Shadowclan and Fireclan combined. I do ot want to do this anymore than the next cat, but we've already lost cats. I know for a fact that Shadestar will attack for this, and we can not risk losing more cats than we already have. Leaf-bare is setting in, and if we don't give this territory away, manty cats wil die. And what are our chances of winning if alll of Fireclan and Shadowclan come into battle. I talked with Shadestar, and I am sure that this is what he means to do. One of the Fireclan cats has already taken my lives, and think: if we lose this territory, the disputed about the border will become more often, and they would be much more likely to attack us again. And, we will be like Shadowclan's worst enemy. Shadestar told me: he still has all nine lives. I don't." he hissed in a hushed voice.
He looked at Burningflame. He needed her input too, before he went to give Shadestar his answer. He did not want fighting. Well, unless....
"Burningflame, what do you think? If you to agree, then I will go out and fight, no matter what. You would stand for the clan better than I, after all they only have one life to lose. No matter what you two vote, whether you be spluit or not, we will bring in one warrior and one apprentice, to see their thoughts. Maybe Troubleseeker and Fogpaw. They would know. If they too agree to stand against Shadowclan and Fireclan, then I will take it out to Shadestar and tell him we mean to fight. If not we will hand over the territory. Keep in mindthese two things. If we fight, I need two cats two run out as soon as possible and contact the other clans. We need as much help as possible. And, if we hand the territory over, I will later organize a battle. Now that I have spoken my mind, what do you two think?" he asked.

Burningflame thought, listening to the cats. "It's a lose-lose scenario. We give them our territory, we could starve. We don't, we could all die." She meowed. "Judging by the lack of their ribs sticking out as our own are, it does not appear that they are starving, or it could be that Shadestar is picking and choosing who gets food. StarClan is punishing him for taking in this group of rogues. They would not hesitate to attack me if I was alone collecting herbs by the river; nor would they hesitate to rape me given half the chance, and it is against my sacred code to bear kits; it could cloud my judgement if I bore kits." She meowed.
"Both Fogpaw and Troubleseeker would agree giving the territory to Shadestar would be foolish. They may have the strength of FireClan, but those mangy felines do not follow a code, no matter how much Shadestar thinks they are. I think we should fight, and the whole clan will agree. I know how your kits feel Twinestar; I was assesing a thorn in Jaypaw's paw this morning, and she said she'd fight FireClan until her bones broke if necisarry. I believe the whole clan feels that way; however, Patchface and Silktail should not remain in camp whilst we plan this attack. Jaypaw, Badgerpaw and Sunpaw, as well as Polarpelt, should take them to WindClan and ask for shelter until the war is over; they won't like it, but we cannot afford for Patchface and Silktail to die; they have suffered enough."

the Cat* Twinestar the Noted* Well, okay. the Number* 304
"Yes. Yes, we will fight. I suppose you two are right, most cats would rather die than fight. I am sorry. I am a coward for not wanting to fight, I just do not want any cats to die. Leopardheart, go and find two cats who will be able to run quickly. One will go to Windclan, and one will go to Riverclan. They will ask for any help we can get. Oh, and ask if we could allow Silktail and Patchface to stay there. As for you, Burningflame, go find a warrior to accompany you to the river. Gather as many herbs as you can find. I will tell Shadestar that we will fight, and then I will organize a patrol. As soon as he leaves, we will have half the clan hunt, and half the clan stay here and stock up on brambles and such. We must do everything in our power to position ourselves to win." Twinestar whispered, looking down at the ground.
He looked up at his deputy and medicine cat. "Thank you, you two. Now go, we have no time to spare." He padded out of his den, and went to Shadestar. It seemed like every cat was frozen with anticipation. He saw Burningflame and Leopardgheart out of the corner of his eye.
"Shadestar, we choose to fight. Thank you for asking though. However, once you leave this territory, and Shadowclan or Fireclan cat found willl be killed. I do not wish to hurt your clan, but it is just too much to give up. I will not do it for Fireclan." Twinestar murmured in a low voice. He flicked his tail at the leader, as if to tell him to be off. He wouldn't take it nicely, but Twinestar was sure he was ready to fight too.

"Polarpelt is rather fast, and determined when he's not on the cat mint. He'll lead the elders to WindClan, and then he'll run to RiverClan to get help. He has some friends there, I understand.." Leopardheart murmured the last sentence, and then stood up, and walked out of the den. "I shall fetch the cats, and bring them to the other Clans for you. We must be quick, in case ShadowClan decides to attack before we can."
Leopardheart took off, and was quickly out of the den, running to get the cats. Twinestar left after her, and started to talk to Shadestar. When Leopardheart reached the warrior's den, she froze. Shadestar was on the other side of camp, but yet she could still smell ShadowClan as clear as anything..
"We're surrounded!" She realized with a yowl, turning her head to Twinestar, who must have already talked to Shadestar, as he was up on the edge of the quarry.
"I am.. saddened to hear that you have declined, Twinestar. I suppose being civil was worth a chance, right?" Shadestar looked down upon the leader with evil icy colored eyes. The wind ruffled his pelt as a grin formed on his jowls. "ShadowClan! FireClan! Attack!"
Pandora's box had been opened.
