Shadestar was the first to arrive, like always. The moon was nearly in the middle of the sky, however. Shadestar shrugged, and looked down at the log to the gathering. It was covered in snow. "Okay, pick up your feet, and use the snow to your advantage. Don't slip." Shadestar meowed, as he made his way across the log, to the other side. Next came Cherishpaw, Smokepaw, Ravenfeather, Flameshade, Animal, Claws, Pinestep, and then Crowpaw. Redeyes followed behind all of them. Shadestar figured that he may as well bring his real deputy instead of lying to the cats: Then, maybe he'd make them wish that they held their tongues about ShadowClan.
"Redeyes," Shadestar told the FireClan leader. "Please, do not attack cats from other Clans at this gathering. The last thing we want is a Clan alliance after us.. just your presence should be able to scare most of them."
Shadestar then walked over to the pine tree that he sat on. He kicked some snow off of it. Luckily, it wasn't coated with ice. Shadestar sat, and examined the land before him. ShadowClan had brought a fair amount of cats this time. Hopefully cats will get the message that I can take this many cats from camp, and still keep the camp guarded.. Shadestar's ears perked up, as he thought he heard cats trudging through the snow.

Redeyes snorted. "I'll try." He said, watching Claws and Animal. "You're 'warrior' names will be Tallclaw for your Claws, and for Animal, Orangepelt. Tell no one your real names orI'll have your ears for my breakfast." The tom said, watching their reactions.
Milkystar sighed. Having one eye was a bit of a problem. He had to watch out during this gathering. Behind him padded Destinycall, Tigerpaw, Stormpaw, Cloudrunner, Moondcloud, Addertongue, Skysong and Dewdrop. He'd brought Cloudrunner so he could catch up with Windclan after teaching their medicine cat apprentice. "Come on Riverclan,"[/color] The battle-scarred tom meowed, watching his clan cross to the island. A scent of a cat caught his nose, and they flared with anger. "Fireclan! What is Fireclan doing on the island?!"[/color] He hissed, his voice low. He flicked his tail, stopping his clan. He saw three cats he recognised within the group of Shadowclanners; Redeyes, Animal and Claws. He narrowed his eyes. "Say nothing to anyone about those three cats. Thunderclan and Windclan should recognise their scent."[/color] He said quietly to his clan, padding over to the tree and leaping up beside Shadestar, not looking at him, his single grey eye staring out onto the island.

"Tallclaw! What a stupid name for a warrior like me!" Claws growled. Animal took a step back and nodded at Redeyes, as if to tell him that Animal wouldn't fight his leader over it.
"You should be quiet, Cla- Tallclaw! Just in case we look too suspicious!" Animal hissed quietly to the bigger tom, looking up at him.
"I wouldn't mind fighting tonight, Gingerpelt. I mean, orange. Shadestar only gave the command to Redeyes," Claws challenged the little warrior under his breath, with a crooked grin. "Tigerstar and I are kin. I am the kin of a legend," Claws said, putting his head down to Animal, and staring him in the eye. "I could kill Redeyes. And one day I will, Animal. And his bones will make a nice sound around my teeth," Claws hissed, trying to keep his voice inaudible for Redeyes.
Animal nodded quickly,his back arched a little with fear. He quickly backed up a few steps, and joined the ShadowClan crowd.

"Shut up Tallclaw, or I'll rip out your throat here and now." The white tom hissed at Claws. "I should have left you to die as a stupid loner, not take you in and make you a powerful warrior of FireClan. I gave you she-cats, and you are not allowed to fight during a gathering. At least appear civilised fool." Redeyes hissed again, watching the RiverClan cats eye them warily.
"So, how is ShadowClan faring Shadestar?"[/color] Milkystar said, watching Claws and Animal and Redeyes. He would try to hide all hostilities tonight, but the moon was a strange colour tonight, almost a blood red. The stars did not dare twinkle either, they just sat there, watching their descendants, knowing their every move. Milkystar stopped himself from sighing, and watched his clan eyeing up the ShadowClan cats.

Nightstar's black pelt padded over the log, her fur bristling. FireClan! she looked back to the line of cats with Winterwind, Snowpatch, Orangesky, Hollythorn, Leafsong, and Silvertongue behind her. She stopped them with a flick of her tail and spoke low. All the clan could hear her, but only her clan could. "There are FireClan cats here tonight, WindClan. Though we may be on hostile terms with them, I don't want anyone to loose a claw on them. Tear up the ground with your claws if you wish, but do not touch a hair on their pelts unless they attack us first. Then you may strike. This is a gathering, and by StarClan we're going to follow the law of the truce if it all comes down to it." Her fur still bristling she turned and walked onto the island, her small troop of cats behind her.
She went over to Milkystar, and nodded. "How is your clan, Milkystar? They seem to be well with the force you have brought."

"My clan is faring well despite the losses we have suffered,"[/color] Milkystar said, turning to the younger she-cat. "Cloudrunner is halfway done with teaching our apprentice. Once again, I must thank you for letting him stay and teach him. If Cloudrunner had not, RiverClan would have been doomed."[/color] He stated plainly. "Some of our cats are falling sick, but not all of them are that bad."[/color] He nodded, watching his cats converse with WindClan.

Twinestar looked behind him. Following him were Badgerpaw, Jaypaw, Leopardheart, Burningflame, Silverpaw, Fogpaw, Stormeyes, Troubleseeker, Polarpelt, Raccoontail, Barktree, and Swirlfur.
He nodded in satisfaction, and looked foward again. After the last gathering, he was wondering: why was he always left in the dust? It was as if the other three clans were at war with eachother, and Thunderclan was just like: meh.
He suddenly caught wiff of a strange scent. It was unfarmiliar, but he had smelt it before. He wracked his brain for it, and it pooped into his head. Then he felt fury rise inside, and his fur bristled. Along with the other three clans, Fireclan was there. He made his fur lie flat, and turned around once more.
"Thunderclan, you shall not attack unless another cat attacks first. I mean any cat. As long as Thunderclan does not start the fight, you may attack." he hissed to them. He would not be held responsible for any dead cats, but it was all he could do to not pounce upon Shadestar. Wretched cat, letting those horrid animals into his clan.
Then, as he crossed the log, his eyes settled on one cat. Anger rose inside of him, a bomb ready to go off at any time. It was Redeyes, or Coldpaw. The cat who had broken Silktail's neck. That wretched animal, stupid, fuckin excuse for life. No, it was all he could do to not try to kill him right now.
He knew he would appear angry, and allowed his clan to sit before he approached the other leaders. After taking a few long breaths, he went to the tree. "Hello Nightstar, Milkystar." he whispered. He could not bear to say Shadestar's name, let alone look at him.

Claws growled at Redeyes, though he didn't retort with anything. His eyes focused on the leaders, who were now speaking. [atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=171717]

"Milkystar! You're so young and hasty, grouped with idiotic! Why would Drowningstar make you deputy? Every apprentice knows that all Clan cats must wait for the other Clans unless they're too late! " Shadestar yowled. True, he was just trying to start a fight pretty much, but he loved repormanding other cats for not following StarClan's law, especially when they all accused him of not following it. Shadestar knew that Milkystar was likely just trying to star friendly conversation anyways, but Shadestar would rather verbally punch him in the face than talk with him, even if talking was more diplomatic.
The cool night wind whipped at all of the cat's fur, and then Twinestar arrived, greeting everyone but Shadestar. Shadestar dug his claws into the snow, but said nothing to ThunderClan's leader. Shadestar looked up at the moon, and his mouth gaped open at the blood red color. Is StarClan giving me a sign? The full moon is the color of blood..
Shadestar yowled out to the cats at the gathering: "Greetings, Clans of the forest! ShadowClan would rather have a peaceful night tonight, but we will still conversate!" Shadestar wanted to let some calmness over the gathering. Shadestar hadn't given up on StarClan, and still followed their laws, but they seemed to have almost no problem with FireClan thus far, or they haven't told Shadestar anything. After all, they hadn't fathered any kits in Shadestar's Clan: Except for maybe Ravenpaw's, but nobody really knew about that.
"ShadowClan has been doing rather well. We have many supplies left over and a few sick cats. Most of them are in perfect condition now. We have enough prey to feed the Clan, though we can't spare any kills." The last part was almost a lie. FireClan's cats were stealing more fresh-kill than they were supposed to eat, leaving some cats hungry. Shadestar's lie was rather smooth, however, so he hoped nobody would notice. "Milkystar, I suppose it's your turn, if you wish."

Milkystar snorted at Shadestar. "I could say the same for you when Crowstar picked you; I really did wonder why he picked you over your brother." He meowed, watching the clans converse, most of the avoiding FireClan.
Jaypaw stuck close to her brother and elder cousins. "That tom is apparently our uncle,"[/color] She motioned her tail to the white cat with bright yellow eyes. "He was the one who broke mama's neck so she can't be a warrior no more!"[/color] Interested, the kit padded over, eyes wide, tail and ear pressed against her body. "A-are y-you C-Coldpaw from mama's stories?"[/color] She asked, looking at Animal and Claws fearfully. They seemed to be eyeing her up, as if wanting her to carry their young. Redeyes smirked at the kitten.
"Yes, I am. You're much like your mother, with her beauty and passion for life. Pity she didn't want to join me; I only wished to liberate her. But, with the clans as they are, they'll be liberated by themselves."[/color] He laughed. "Go now kit, before your father decides to break the code and rip my throat out; I know how oh so much he wishes to."[/color] He laughed, and watched Jaypaw hurry away and huddle next to Badgerpaw. "You do not touch her, got it?"[/color] He hissed at Claws and Animal; no, those mongrels wouldn't dare touch her, or Redeyes would claws their balls off.

She loked sideways at Milkystar and Twinsetsra. "I need to speak with you two after the gathering. No ShadowClan or FireClan cats shall be inattendance of this meeting." she muttered to them. She stepped forward, since Milkystar obviously wasn't going to go at this time.
"WindClan are faring well. Our prey is scrce, as usual, but the rabbits are starting to hide in their burrows. We can still defend ourselves though." She flicked her eyes to both Redeyes and Shadestar before continuing. "Gladefeet's litter is fairing well, although they began their live on the rough note of leafbare." She stepped back, flicking her black tail elegantly.

Twinestar glared at Redeyes, and then turned away. Passion burned within him, and anger swellled. However, he chose not to show it. Redeyes was right though; he did want to rip his throat out. He still did not look at Shadestar, but he could talk. Nightstar finished talking, and he was ready to go.
"We are fairing well enough. Prey is beginning to hide away, but nothing that we weren't prepared for. The trees have all lost their foliage, and it is a bit harder to manage, but we're getting by fine. Nothing to worry about here." he said cheerfully. It was hard to do, but he did manage to get by without mentioning Shadestar's name.
Badgerpaw watched his dad up there, and whispered to Jaypaw. "Look at Uncle. Why did he have to go and hurt Mommy? That was really mean. I think that Daddy's even more mad though." he remarked. His father did look mad. Rip-someone-apart mad. Well, at least he sounded happy.
He couldn't wait to go home though. He was very tired, more than usually. He yawned, and snuggled up next to his clingy sister. It was starting to get really, really cold. He shivered, and looked back at the big tree.
Cloudrunner sat over with Windclan. "You smell like fish. How do you like it, over there with the swimming cats?" one cat remarked. He chuckled, happy to be back over with his clan. Riverclan was fine, but he couldn't wait to get back and eat fresh-kill, and sleep under the stars.
"It okay. Lonely though, you know?" he answered. It was true; he did get pretty lonely without any real company. At least he knew all of their names, now. Oherwise, it would be truly horrible. He grunted, and looked up. Hewas glad that he would be going home soon, but he didn't like the color of the moon.
Blood red.
