swearing and spoilers for the book the Sight in here. If you haven't read the book, please don't read the spoiler tags.
so my partner in this thing that my schools been doing has lately been really pissing me off lately. In LA class we needed to discuss a book online with someone from the nearby school, West. So, I pick my book, the Sight. I was so excited, that my LA teacher let me read a book that may be hard to obtain for the other school district. The book was about wolves, so it seemed to be right up my alley.
I write my partner:
so then he said:
ok, he seemed like a good enough kid. nobody who i knew from elementary school though.
I simply wrote him a message saying that there was a required lexile.
Then he said in another topic:
note that the whole meaning of the process was to read the boom together, predict the book together, argue your points, supply arguments, etc. well, this limited what i could do to my partner. I knew I'd feel like I was talking to a wall the entire time.
HEY FRED YOU SPELLED RECOGNITION WRONG. you'll understand this later :c
so not only has he ruined my moodle experience, but now he's likely going to make it hard on the teachers. lovely.
first discussion. he said he'd try not to spoil anything for me, but i hoped..
tl;dr plox.
anyways, i replied to him. but not after he proved we'd have a rocky ride:
wow. mucho impatienco. can't wait two days? you've inconvenienced me enough, princess. would you like for me to kiss the ground you fucking walk on?
yay, nice and friendly from me. trying to manage.
um where did i say so-and-so died not on the ice? and wtf with the quotes? you trying to spoil shit for me? BY THE WAY YOU SPELLED SHOULD, UNFORTUNATELY, ASSOCIATED, JEALOUSY, AND SYMBOL WRONG.
and did you just give me some sass? i really wish I knew you irl so I could punch you really, really hard.
i was using smiley faces.. but ok..
not returning any rudeness here..
i didn't ask for what happened, you moron. i asked for what you thought.
THANKS FOR SPOILING THAT. And I know what unhinged means. you're the one who's having trouble knowing what simple slang is.
well, not bad. i mean, he hinted at so and so being a bad guy, but w/e.
i mean just let me know if i;m coming across as rude to him in any of these posts.
THANKS FOR HINTING SPOILERS AT ME THAT ENTIRE POST.
They were an obsticle for Larka to stop the evil though, whether they acted that way voluntarily, or not.
If Fell is alive though [and Kar, as I read], does that mean that the prophecy isn't entirely true, how they'll be touched by all of the elements?
I guess its possible that the ghosts have no idea what they're fighting.. or, maybe they're not ghosts at all.
me making a nice prediction. yeah. remind me to never do THAT again.
1st paragraph: now you know where all of this misspelling stuff is coming from.
3rd paragraph: THANKS FOR RUINING THAT YOU SHIT.
sp? uh, don't know what that stands for.. -reads-
OH I GUESS IT MEANS SPOILERS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND MADE-UP TEXT SPEAK. DSHDFHRDFHHFH
.. and i'm going to hope that my LA teacher will do something about him.

I write my partner:
Hi, I'm Elizabeth [or Liz]. I didn't mean to choose this book, but I couldn't find a book I liked within the right lexile in our library, so I just decided to run out and get this book at Barnes and Noble, because I had heard good reviews about it. Howeverrrr it wasn't at the West Running Brook Library apparently so I will bet that you are one of the people who needed to wait for the book. Sorry about that :s
Anyways I look forward to meeting you, and I hope the book is as good as the reviews claim. c:

so then he said:
Hello, my name is Friedrich. I will be your partner for the duration of the book. no need to be sorry, I got the book without any hassling though I did have to ask the library where it was because that day visit was basically an in out business. in my opinion its not the Lexile that counts its whether or not you like the story that counts.
ok, he seemed like a good enough kid. nobody who i knew from elementary school though.
I simply wrote him a message saying that there was a required lexile.
Then he said in another topic:
My name is Friedrich and I'll also be reading this book.
Actually, I didn't have to wait for this book. The same day I chose this book I went to the Library and and checked the book out. Not just the book but also another book called Fire Bringer also by the same author.
By the way I'm almost done reading this book. As soon as I read the first page I couldn't stop so now I'm at about the last Thirty pages. So I'll try not to give anything away.
Thanks for choosing this book. Wolves happen to be my favorite animals around and the plot is extremely good. In fact it is so well written that if you replaced the animals with humans it would still be almost the same story. If you've already read ahead you'll probably know what I mean. So anyway I can be on the computer all days of the week depending on the workload. I'm usually on the computer at about 3pm to maybe 3:30pm so I was wondering if that time would also work for you. That way we could get some real-time moodling done without waiting for days for the other to come on.

I wonder what reading schedule would be best. My idea is read as much as you can and tell where you are the book. Thanks again, this book is fast becoming one of my all time favorites and there are dozens of book who have that recognization too.

first discussion. he said he'd try not to spoil anything for me, but i hoped..
What do you think of Morgra, half sister to Palla? Basically I think Morgra would have been alright once upon a time. However from the description at the beginning I think she dwells too much on what is gone and done with. Guilt and rage and hatred turned her into a morose and vengeful wolf. The old wolf nurse is the focus of her hatred. Morgra stalks the pack never leaving them a moments peace.
Huttser may be a good leader but he refuses to accept anything that cannot be explained rationally and he pretty much forbids mention of this wierd second sight called the Sight within the pack. He wishes to stave off the inevitable.
Bran the omega wolf is foolish and gulibble, he'll believe any story. Plus Bran is easily influenced. He can't even focus on a hunt, chasing a rabbit when a deer is the easier kill.
[[shady: next part is a heavily influenced by the future prediction]]
Palla is a good leader and mate to Huttser. She is more open to new or controversial discussions. Besides she often worries for the wellfare of her cubs especially with Morgra so near. 2 cubs are born dead and 2 others survive.
As for the Balkar they sound like some kind of a wolf cult, plus they are all male. Something doesn't quite ring true as to Morgra and the Balkar. they claim to be working for the greater good, but they don't. The Pack of Huttser's fleeing those wolves because Palla feared for her unborn cubs basically proves that all is not well. The propecy clinches it because Morgra is hunting the Pack because she thinks that the cubs to be born are the ones that will be the propecy

The old wolf nurse is a bit of a mystery, she appears to hide something. When she mumbles something about Morgra she is relunctant to say what exactly. this is why I believe that she either did something to Morgra when Morgra was young or the other way around.

Hellooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow. mucho impatienco. can't wait two days? you've inconvenienced me enough, princess. would you like for me to kiss the ground you fucking walk on?
sorry i totes forgot my day and stuff s:
To let you know, I'm on the second part, almost on chapter nine. Kar just died, and Fell died also [though I really don't want to believe he's dead sdsdgasgbxvhnjx]. Larka met Tsarr and stuff, and she pretty much hates the human baby. I think that it's pretty much safe to say that this is Larka's human companion-- though that boy who wanted to tame the wolves-- they just wouldn't mention him then leave him, right?
Anyways, I believe Mogra truly could have been good, and an asset to the pack. However, the nurse needed to tell that Mogra killed the pup, even though it was accidental. I don't know why anyone would ever be driven to do that.
And I agree with your point on Huttser. When he fought with Palla on the lake, I don't think that he died. Maybe Palla died, or he's dying, but I don't know. I think he may still be out there and alive, though I guess its unlikely with him on cracking ice, fighting, and with a group of wolves watching him. Maybe they thought Palla killed him, or he was going to die, so left him there, and then killed Palla? And then he ended up living?
When I was at that point of the book, I thought the same thing. I knew she was hiding something about Mogra, about her opinion about her or something. I was right about it :]
Right, I liked Palla, but I really think she's gone now. She is more superstitious, and a little more gullible than some of the other members.
And Bran is rather foolish. I'm pretty sure he was the one who lunged for a bull moose when the rest of them were going after something different. I'm not surprised he ended up dying.
As for the Balkar thing.. I don't know, maybe their just a group of easily manipulated wolves, and are just way too loyal to their leaders word? Maybe Morgra tricked them or something.
Anyways, onto what I read, I can't believe Fell died. Not as in I'm shocked, but I guess I am kinda shocked, but there's some seed of hope he's still alive. I really liked him-- Larka's a little too unorginal in my opinion. Nice, gets angered when something bad happens, knows a lot.. and the wolf who was carrying the cubs died by water, and I think Palla may have been the one killed by ice. I don't know, I'm willing to convince myself of anything to cling to the hope Fell's still alive.
Also Kar's death was so sad. He just wanted to help Larka, and he pretty much died for her. Kar was my next favorite character, after Fell. And the whole combusting in flames.. it's almost as bad as looking through the ice you're drowning in, and being trapped.
Regardless of what's going on, I love this book. It's pretty interesting. Not good enough for me to be reading it when I should be doing other things, but I'll still read it whenever I can, even if it is only a half a page.

yay, nice and friendly from me. trying to manage.
You're being confusing. First off it was Fell who "died " on the ice. Huttser and Palla fought by the riverside, Palla who was driven insane by Fells death and Huttser who was deeply insulted at the mere suggestion that it was his fault that Fell " died. Its no coincidence that Larka is white as snow and Fell is black as midnight?
Wolfbane is described as evil and can take the form of anything. Black is often assosiated with evil. White is a smbol of purity and is the opposite of black. Though I finished the book I fell as if I can deduce this, Fell has to be very much alive, judging from his unexplainable feelings of jealosy. I can say that there will probably be conflict between the 2.
I don't think Kars dead, because it didn't specifically say that he was dead. Larka only thought he was dead.
Larka ran from the sight of her parents fighting.
How do you feel the rebel pack shapes up to be? Their leader seems to have an unpleasant past. What are her motives? why does she hate the sight so much that shes willing to kill anyone assosiated with it?
How about the Balkar? Don't they have a sense of honor? Don't they know right from wrong? Morgra schould be felling disgusted with herself.
As for the nurse she was too ashamed to tell that she neglected the cubs. 1 cub was dying because it was left out in the cold. Morgra was Barren so she wanted to take care of the cub because there was a fox preparing to kill it. Unfortunatly , in her haste to save it she killed it unintentionally of course. That pretty much sealed her fate.
Bran was brave at the end of his life if you've bothered to read that section.
But I'm going too far back so I'll say this, The book was interesting and a page-turner.
Until the next letter.

oh and, please don't use abbreviation for words. I'm not that well versed in Popular texting and things like that. Plus what does totes mean??
Thanks
Thanks
i was using smiley faces.. but ok..
alright. totes is pretty much totally, and I'll try not to use it. I tend to only use smilies and common abbreviations, but if its a problem for you, I'll avoid it.
Okay, I thought that Huttser and Palla fought on the ice just after Fell got trapped under the ice. I guess I must have missed the riverbank part.
Oh, that would be interesting, if Wolfbane was Fell. It would make sense-- him being reborn into the litter with his enemy.
Hmm, maybe the leader is just very superstitious about the sight, and is frightened of the Man Varg? Or, maybe it's the opposite, and doesn't believe in it at all, and is just an extremist who wants everything supersitious dead?
and yes he was brave, I did read that part. Still, throughout the better part of his life, he was an omega-type.

not returning any rudeness here..
Alright, I've only read a chapter or so from where I last left off, so forgive me when I don't have too much to talk about-- I'll hopefully read a bit so we'll have more material to talk about later on.
So, I think that there's a fair chance of Kar being alive now. They've dropped a few hints, mainly Kraar talking about how they assume Larka's friend died when he caught on fire, although: "It nearly burned him up. But at the last minute he managed to escape. I doubt he will survive, after what the fire did to him.".. Plus, Larka saw him in the river. I'm thinking that maybe that's a future vision? It's unlikely, but I guess it's worth putting out there.
But, apparently Huttser and Palla are alive, since they weren't found. Still clinging onto the hope Fell's alive.
It's good that Larka's learning the Sight better now, with Tsarr and Skart. Also, the baby-- I've pretty much dismissed the boy and his grandfather, and I guess the baby, named Bran [guess Larka liked him] is Larka's human bond, or whatever it is.
What were your thoughts when you were at this point in the book?

well, you have nothing to worry about.
yes I thought Kar was alive at that point and further on I was proven right. But he was nearly completly unhinged(insane)...
to be continued...
well I'll talk again tomorrow, Dinners on the table and and My moms calling.
see you tomorrow.

Back again!!!
you know that crow who channels Morgras Sight, Kraar? I find Kraar repulsive and naive. Plus he only thinks for himself and whenever he does something he usually asks if there is something in that which he can use to his advantage.I really hoped that Kraar would have an "accident" so that he would stop giving away the show.
Larka is consumed with hatred for the man child because she blames it for all her bad luck. But she comes to love it as if it were her own cub.
Huttser and Palla, if they are alive are most likely in danger because the Prophecy warns that if the family is divided then Larka will fail because love is a key issue in this quest.
As for Skart the eagle, I never really trusted him because he pushes Larka so hard its suspicious. But I believe he's sincere even if he has some sort of hidden agenda.
For now I'll close by saying this, "Morgra has to fail in her quest because if she doesn't she will make life difficult for all the Lera and Putnar". This much is certain, Both she and the Rebel leader are brutal, sadistic killers who don't care how many lives they take. Their main goal is to win at whatever the cost in lives. Morgra and this Rebel don't care about the wolves or carrion-eaters under their command. As long as it serves their purpose, they'll do it.

well, not bad. i mean, he hinted at so and so being a bad guy, but w/e.
I find Kraar a kind of funny, quirky character. I find Larka the more annoying of the characters though.. I'm pretty sure that I brought this up in the past letter, but she seems to be a little bit too knowing and stuff that I'm kind of growing impatient with her.
As for Skart the eagle, I trust him so far. He's done a lot of good for Larka, and maybe he just wants to help her with the Sight. Plus, he nearly killed Kraar into giving information to the group, though unfortunately Larka stopped him before he could kill the raven.
Yeah, I had a feeling one of them were alive, and I was rather happy when they both lived [but I guess this means that Fell did die..?]. I think Slavka's rules are a little bit stupid, and she's a bit too strange for me. I think both her and Mogra are just opportunists with closed ears.
I read the scene where the ghosts fought for Mogra just recently. On the bright side, the rebel pack is for the most part, dead. However, it mentioned Fell's spirit, so I assume that means that he died :c

On the bright side? No, these wolves gave their lives so that they would be free of Morgra and The Balkar. Slavca though became evil after she let the ghost touch her. She is not in her right mind. Something is controlling her. Her personality is now conflicting because of this influence.
No, It just means that Fell is probably alive. Those ghosts are memories the way I look at them. The wolves have no distinct shape unless they are given a name. As for Fell, I suspect that he is still very much alive. Black equals Wolfbane and evil, don't forget. And Fell is Black.
The Ghost most likely did not fight willingly. There has to be a power as old as the Earth itself. They fight because everything living draws them. Sort of like a magnet. They hunger for the life they once led and lost. They want to take back their life.

Obsticle is spelled wrong, its obstacles.
They may have been an obstacle to Larka. But that no reason to be glad that 2/3 of the wolves are dead. They truly believed in the cause because The Rebel Leader is and can be very persuasive. She used their fears to her advantage. These wolves don't deserve to die just because they fear something so much as to be irrational.
Fell is alive like I suspected all along. He is Wolfbane 100% positive. That was nasty of him to blind a wolf that just happened to say the wrong thing.
As for the Propecy they work in quirky ways. Often one thinks that you know what its about but then it really has another meaning. So prophecies don't have one meaning, they have many. It just depends on which way you look at it.
Sp
Those ghosts definatly are ghosts. They are ghosts devoid of memory and retain only the shape of the wolf unless somebody recognizes them.
