FireClan was still here. Shadestar sighed, and then jumped up on a branch. The gathering was tomorrow, so he wanted to make Cherishkit and apprentice, and spread the news at the gathering. Poor Nightkit was missing this.. and Sablekit was too busy playing with a moss ball. StarClan, what have I done to deserve this? I've been nothing short but forced into all of this... Nightkit was the only one who became sick in the whole clan. Sablekit talked loudly, and slurred her speech like she had stolen into the store of catmint. Shadestar sighed, and then called out: "All members of ShadowClan! Gather around for a Clan meeting!" It was a great day out for turning into leaf-bare. "We all know that leaf-bare is coming fast, and we'll need more prey than ever! This being said, I am naming a new apprentice. Solartail, retrieve Cherishkit!" Cherishkit was picked up by the scruff, and carried over to the tree, while a sad Nightkit watched on, nose and eyes dripping with sickness. Cherishkit was beneath him, now, and the entire ShadowClan was watching. Some FireClan were, others were off just hunting or lying around. He twitched his ear at the nearly freeloaders. "Cherishkit! You are certainly old enough to become an apprentice! Will you uphold the Clan's sacred warrior code, and defend your Clan, even with your life?" Cherishkit nodded when Shadestar asked, excited. "Good. Then, by the power of StarClan, from this moment until you become a warrior, you will be known was Cherishpaw! You will learn all of the mentioned and more as you train to become a warrior! Your mentor will be Fireclaw." "Fetch Q!" Poppyclaw fetched Q when Shadestar's gaze rest upon her. The little gray kit was now beneath Shadestar's branch. "Q is ready to become a warrior, and for his name to be changed to that of a Clan cat's!" Shadestar paced. "Q, do you promise to train to become an apprentice, learn to become a warrior, and defend your Clan with everything; even your own life?" Shadestar pause,d and looked down at Q. "I-I.. Yes." he replied shakily. "Good. Then, by the power of StarClan, your new name will be Smokepaw. Solartail, you will train this apprentice under you," Shadestar knew that Smokepaw needed to be raised the right way, and he knew that Solartail could do just that. The two cats touched noses, and then walked away together. "The cats I have decided to let come to the gathering are: Fireclaw, Leopardfang, Drydusk, Crowpaw, in place of Ashenanarchy, Poppyclaw, and Dustpaw. The hunting patrol will contain Oneclaw, Ravenpaw, Flamepaw, Pinestep, and Mosspelt. The border patrol will contain Fireclaw, Solartail, Spottedtail, and Dreambreaker. Have a good sunhigh,"

"Hey, put me down!" Q yowled, fighting the warrior as they picked him up, and flailing around. When he was dropped in front of Shadestar though, he silenced his words, and looked up. Shadestar had made Cherishkit into an apprentice, and now he waas going to be an apprentice, too.

He nodded as Shadestar recited the ceremony, and was made into Smokepaw. So, I'll be mentored by Solartail,, he thought as the orange cat toached noses with him, and hedid the same. He was pretty excited, but laid back at the same time.

Smaokepaw looked around, almost like he was expecting something to be different now that he was an apprentice with a new name, but nothing was new. He smiled, because he knew it would be the same, but he had been hoping for something different. He didn't feel any more powerful or smart. He shrugged it off though, and bounded around, leaping up.

"Yeah! I'm an apprentice!"[/b] He yelled, bouncing around camp. He guessed he was just happy that he didn't have to stay in camp all day, that he could finally go outside without getting in trouble. "This is going to be such a blast!"
