For Leafpaw, sleeping in the medicine cat’s den was a lot more relaxing then in the nursery. Maybe it was that there weren’t hardly as many kits running about, or that it was quieter or just the comforting scents of all the herbs. Whatever it was it sent the small apprentice into and soothing and deep slumber.
"Come now Leafpaw. You start your training today."
With nothing more needed to be done or said the gentle sound of the medicine cat woke Leafpaw happily. Her green eyes blinked open and it only took her a moment to remember that she was no longer in the nursery anymore. Leafpaw stretched merrily and took in a deep and warming breath.
“Got you breakfast”
Leafpaw’s attention quickly was directed to Burningflame as she returned with a two mice. “Oh, thank you. You didn’t have to do that.” She said sheepishly.
Leafpaw couldn’t help but she was very hunger. So she quickly and quietly began to eat her breakfast as she gave a small thanks to StarClan for its life. Once she finished she followed Burningflame’s example and stretched out, this time her muscles losing more then before, and began to pick at her teeth.
“You ready?” [/size]
This was it. This was going to be a whole new beginning for Leafpaw. Today was the day that she would finally begin to follow in the paw steps StarClan had laid out for her. Her only fear was weather or not she was really ready for this. Flooded with excitement all Leafpaw could manage was a small nodded and a squeal “Yes!”

Burningflame let out a short purr as her apprentice eat at the mouse she brought her. "Of course I should have brought it. You're my apprentice." The red cat purred, stepping out into the bright morning light.
She tilted her neck gently; she'd slept awkward last night, and her neck was killing her. She'd apply some herbs later, Leafpaw was her new priority. Burningflame yawned gently, and sat outside her den.
"Today Leafpaw, we will learn the basics of herbs, and where to find them." Burningflame said, licking her chest gently, fluffing up her fur, though she didn't need to. "I am also going to take you to the Moonpool so we can speak with our ancestors next half moon. You will also meet the other medicine cats and their apprentices, if they have any."
Burningflame turned to Leafpaw, her fur fully fluffed up. "Come now, time to show you the territory and where to find herbs and their uses." Burningflame purred, her eyes sparkling.

Burningflame seemed to be very kind, and Leafpaw was almost certain that she would enjoy learning from her and getting to know her mentor even more. As a medicine cat she showed that she had wisdom beyond her years, mostly because of what StarClan has taught her.
Leafpaw watched as her mentor tilted her neck from one side to the other. Unsure if it had been from sleeping wrong or just still trying to work out the stiffness of the night. But whatever it was Leafpaw figured it wasn’t any of her business so she held her tongue.
She began to listen carefully to everything that her mentor said. If Burningflame said something important Leafpaw did not want to forget it. “When is the next half moon?“ Leafpaw asked curiously.
At Burningflame’s command Leafpaw was up and ready to go. ”Where are we going to go to first?”, she couldn’t help but to ask.
This would be Leafpaw’s first time to go out of camp as an apprentice. This would be her first time out where she didn’t have to sneak out during the dark hours of the night. Or for her to be following an actual cat instead of voices of StarClan.
