[so far I've only gotten to like, chapter 3, no spoilers here!]
The start of the book brought back the memories of the old books I love, where Bluestar died. I recalled putting down the book, even though I remember not really liking Bluestar much. This made me very happy.
Things I like. Her style of writing. I still love the description. Its not dull, its interesting, and you want to read all about it. Why I love warriors. Already there are some interesting things going on.
Things I dislike. I'll list these so its neater.
Names. Most of them are good, some are borderline, and some are just.. bad.
Sunfall, the deputy. Sun is an iffy prefix, but fall? It makes me sad. 'lol lets name this warrior after an apocolypse because it sounds cool!!!' uh, no.
Fuzzypelt. First thoughts. Uh, what. I can imagine a mother curled around a fuzzy kit, purring, and then saying: 'He's so fuzzy. Fuzzykit!' and then the father going like: 'will he like that as a warrior?' and then the mother going like, 'FUZZYKIT'. Then the leader cracking up during all of his ceremonies. And then the other apprentices making fun of him. HEHE FUZZYPELT.
Moonflower. The prefix is iffy, but I do like the flow.
Mumblefoot. Does his foot.. mumble? Or did he mumble as a kit? what.
Foxheart. Usually having the heart of a fox isn't a good thing.
Archeye. Iffy. I mean, a human arch.. an eye.. and, Archkit? what.
Then.. Bluekit opens her eyes at a day old. And then apparently kits open there eyes at birth. And the mother keeps on going on about how both of the kits eyes are blue. THEY'RE NEWBORNS. THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE BLUE. Anyways, on her first day, she speaks fluently, and his walking around the camp. weird, right? At least they said she had impaired vision, like a kit should.
and then i ran into fuzzypelt. hehe.
and then bluekit got crushed by a squirrel. what.
