[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=171717] the count;; 855 the cat;; Shadestar the involved;; ShadowClan the notes;;
Shadestar remembered watching the FireClan cats go, promising to be back in five sunrises. Shadestar had sent out patrols to make sure the three cats had left, and then was relieved to find that they were out of the territory, and their pawprints spotted along the shore.
Shadestar crawled out of his den, and looked at his cats. He had been planning some ceremonies for a while, but now he knew that the apprentices were ready to receive their names, and there was a brand new batch of apprentices.
The black cat with long fur jumped up onto the branch above his den, and boomed in a loud yowl: "All cats 6 moons and older, gather around the high branch for a Clan meeting!" Shadestar called, as he watched his Clan gather.
"I have many messages to deliver. First, as all of us know, FireClan," he paused for less than a second, collecting all of his thoughts, "came into ShadowClan this afternoon. They gave me an offer I couldn't ignore. It wasn't that it was a correct, or fair offer, but I could not turn them down,"
Shadestar paused again, for one moment, making sure his thoughts were collected again, as this was a touchy subject. "Redeyes wanted an alliance, threatening to kill some members of our Clan, including an old apprentice of ours, Dustpaw," Shadestar paused again, making sure this was the right kit of Crowstar. "Dustpaw, if you do not know, is the daughter of Crowstar. By saying this, I am not meaning that because of having a leader's blood, you are more important," even though it's coming across that way, "I had to get her back. I knew that Redeyes would kill both Poppyclaw and Dustpaw, and try to take one of my own lives, if I refused his offer," I won't bring up how much Poppyclaw pissed me off this afternoon, ruining my plan.. Shadestar thought, continueing.
"Who knows who else he and his cats would have attacked. I did not want any of you hurt or injured from this cat," Shadestar called, making sure it struck all of the cats. "Redeyes will not be allowed to rape any female he likes. No matter what he thinks, he is my deputy when the alliance agreed. He has no real control over you, besides making patrols, and other deputy tasks. He still has to ask my permission to breed with any of the females," Shadestar said, making sure he could make up a point, even if it couldn't be achieved, that the clan cats would agree to. "She-cats, I will ask you if you want to breed with him. I know you would probably not enjoy it, and its not comforting, considering how unclean FireClan's harem is, but please, I do not want him turning on us. I will give you special privilages if you choose to breed with him. He will not be able to breed with cats who are too young to properly deliver, which is new warriors and younger. Also, I will give him a catch: You can breed with every mateless female in the Clan. So, please, find a mate if you can. You do not have to breed with him right away, or find him right away, but if there's a cat you liked, I suggest you pair up with him. You can drop him later for another male, but only if he knows that this is just a ploy to not get you bred with. Males, please understand, and I suggest that now you should try to be with the female you love, and, if you don't love any in the clan, please agree to pair up with one. It's for the good of the females, and ShadowClan,"
Shadestar paused to catch his breath, and then noticed his thirst. "I will try to convert Redeyes and his clan to our side. If Redeyes disagrees, and won't convert, we'll get all of his clan members we can get to turn on him. This will gain us power, and will help us recover from the great sickness," Shadestar dug his claws into the branch. "Please agree with Redeye's plan for now, and don't act like I'm planning anything outside of the alliance rules. If somebody trips and messes up, I'm going to be in huge trouble with Redeyes, and maybe along with some other members of our Clan. With the numerous cats in his Clan, if he decides to war against us, there will only be three clans in the forest, four including StarClan,"
"I'm begging of you, please think about this as I go to get a drink. And, stay where you are, as I will be doing ceremonies soon," Shadewing jumped off of the branch, clearing his den like always, and then walked out of the camp, tail, now having dirt hanging off of it, dragging behind him. This drink will quench my thirst and clear my mind. Great StarClan, I hope I'm making the right choices...

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=570C70] kit;; morningcloud the worried, dustpaw the anew words;; 338 notes;; dustpaw and morningcloud are scared. Dustpaw's warrior name is Dustfeather music;; I'm Yours - Jason Miraz
This was it. She was home, finally. Drydusk had been so worried for her according to her brother, Firepaw. Whilst she had been away, her father had died, her mother had had another litter of kits, and Shadestar was the leader. She sat on her tail as she sat near her mother. Dustpaw looked like a little clone of her mother.
Rumour had it, even though she'd missed most of her training, she'd be made a warrior with her brother, and see her siblings apprenticed. The ginger she-cat with the emerald's for eyes looked up at her leader, the brother of her mentor, and sighed. How could she tell Drydusk she loved him? How? She looked at the floor again, scolding herself.
'Maybe he's already got a mate... Well, no she-cat better take him or they'll have me to deal with." The she-cat thought, scrunching up her eyes.
Morningcloud looked up at her mate - err, second mate - and sighed. She'd ordered her kits to stay in the nursery. Cherishkit and Nightkit were fairly healthy, but Sablekit had a sloppy voice, and you had to tell her three or four times to do something, mostly a big shout too. Sablekit was deaf; it was obvious.
'At least I have a mate already... I hope he doesn't find out about me and Ashenanarchy... I could lie and say I have a high risk of retiring young because of my mother... She retired young... I'm just letting Ashenanarchy check up on me...' Morningcloud sighed, rubbing her nose with her paw.
As Shadestar spoke, Morningcloud felt her fur prickle. How could he let Fireclan in on them when they nearly killed Dustpaw and her mother? She sighed, purple eyes seeking out Ashenanarchy's blue ones. Shadestar must have a plan. Convert some Fireclanners to Shadowclan life, and then drive out Fireclan. Oneclaw wouldn't be pleased about being a regular warrior again.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=171717] the count;; 855 the cat;; Shadestar the involved;; ShadowClan the notes;; Silky's edit - Firepaw is the boy. He's the brother of Dustpaw :>
Shadestar returned from camp ten minutes later, muzzle wet from him taking a drink. He jumped back up on his branch. "I, Shadestar, call upon StarClan, to look down on these four apprentices. They have trained to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn," Shadestar boomed, looked at the apprentices in the crowd.
"Pinepaw, you are certainly ready to earn your warrior name," Shadestar meowed, flicking his tail, telling the warrior to join him beside him on the thick branch. The full grown brown tabby jumped beside Shadestar, looking proud, with a hint of nervous.
"Pinepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend the clan, even at the cost of your life?" Shadestar asked him, trying to pass some of his pride into Pinepaw.
"I do," Pinepaw said, confidentily, bowing before his leader.
"Then by the power of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Pinepaw, from now on you will be known as Pinestep. StarClan honors you for your bravery and strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan," Shadestar rest his muzzle on Pinestep's head. He was excited, but trying to keep cool. Shadestar could tell as the warrior licked him that he was a little bit frightened of falling off the tree again.
"Pinestep, Pinestep!" the Clan called, applauding the warrior as he bowed again, and then jumped off the branch.
"Mosspaw, you too are ready," the black cat said. Mosspaw walked forward, and climbed the tree. She was a little nervous, but, like Pinestep, tried to hide it.
"Mosspaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend the clan, even at the cost of your life?" Shadestar asked proudly, excited to have more warriors, and new apprentices.
"I.. I do," Mosspaw said, bowing her head.
"Then by the power of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Mosspaw, from now on you will be known as Mosspelt. StarClan honors you for your bravery and strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan," Shadestar rest his head on Mosspelt's bowed head. As he drew his head away, she licked his chin.
"Mosspelt, Mosspelt!" the Clan cheered again.
"The penultimate apprentice will be Firepaw. Come here," Shadestar said, beckoning his apprentice up. Firepaw stalked up to the branch, and leapt up on the tree, kind of showing off his power.
"Firepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend the clan, even at the cost of your life? Shadestar asked, even though he already knew the answer.
"Yeah," he said it a little differently, but with the most confidence. Shadestar was proud of him. He may not be as skillful as Pinestep, but he had a little more determination than him.
"Then by the power of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Firepaw, from now on you will be known as Fireclaw! StarClan honors you for your bravery and strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan," Shadestar nodded his head, for Fireclaw to bow. It took him a few seconds, but he eventually did. Shadestar rest his muzzle on his apprentice's head, and as soon as Shadestar raised his head, Fireclaw licked his cheek, and then jumped down from the branch.
"Fireclaw, Fireclaw!"
"Solarpaw, you are the last apprentice to become a warrior," Solarpaw was about 15 moons now. She wasn't completely ready, Shadestar knew it, but more warriors were due. She could train as a warrior on patrols. Shadestar sighed, almost silently. Solarpaw came to the branch, and waited for him to name her.
"Solarpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend the clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do,"
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Solarpaw, from now on you will be known as Solartail. StarClan honors you for your bravery and strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan," Shadestar rest mis muzzle on the last apprentice's head, who quickly returned a lick.
"Solartail, Solartail!"
"At moonhigh, in honor of our ancestors, Pinestep, Mosspelt, Fireclaw, and Solartail shall sit in silent vigil until dawn, and guard the camp alone while we sleep," Shadestar announced, looking at the proud apprentices.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=47e32d] kit;; Dustpaw the angry words;; 275 notes;; Dustpaw feels like tearing someone's face off now. No one is to follow her except Drydusk
No. It wasn't fair. How dare he. This wasn't fair! As Dustpaw sat by her mother, her thin frame shaking with anticipation, he said Solarpaw was the last apprentice. Had he forgotten she was back? The apprentice bit her lip; she'd still be an apprentice when her younger siblings were in the den with her.
Heartbroken, she whipped away, head hung low as she quickly stalked from camp. Several heads turned to the dusty orange she-cat as she left, the anger coming off her in waves. Sapphire tears welled up in her emerald eyes, ruby pelt shivering angrily.
"It's not fair." She shouted as she ran across the unfamiliar territory. She wanted to be a kita gain, with her mother and father and brother. She hated this. Why didn't Fireclan kill her? She would have been happier then.
She didn't want anyone to follow her except one cat. The only cat she could ever love; Drydusk. If he were to be taken by a she-cat, Dustpaw would be even more heartbroken and throw herself into the lake, killing herself.
She didn't want to be here. Why did Fireclan drive them from their territory? Why didn't she die when she got the sickness? Why could she have never been born? This sucked. Fireclaw, her brother, was an apprentice. Why, even Ashenanarchy's brother was a warrior now! And Solarpaw and Mosspaw! She was older than Mosspaw and Solarpaw! But no, Shadestar... The name fell from her mouth like poison as she spat it.
Shadestar had other ideas.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=171717] the count;; 211 the cat;; Shadestar the involved;; ShadowClan the notes;;wtf? anyways, i lol'd at somebody fetch her, somebody catch her! i felt like this was a freaking musical or something lol
Shadestar waited for all of the sounds to go down. He then yowled: "Fetch Poppyclaw's most recent litter!" Mosspelt and Fireclaw nodded, and went into the nursery, taking one kit for each of them. Fireclaw looked up at Shadestar, not sure what to do.
"Put them under the branch," Shadestar meowed to them. Crowkit and Flamekit both were put under a branch, and Fireclaw flicked his tail, silently telling Mosspelt to get Ravenkit. Mosspelt ran into the nursery, retrieved the kit, and then put Ravenkit under the branch. Shadestar then began the ceremony.
"By naming apprentices, we show that ShadowClan will survive and remain strong. Crowkit--"
"It's not fair!" A feminine shout echoed across the territory, making Shadestar jump. He noticed a small ginger tabby running away. Shadestar then announced:
"Somebody fetch her!" Shadestar scanned the group. "Dustpaw, somebody, catch her!" Shadestar knew that he would probably make things worse, so he didn't go after her himself. She's probably just fustraited because of her brother, who actually went through training, gets to become a warrior. Yes, I'm totally going to make her a warrior even though she barely knows how to hunt, that's real proper.. Great StarClan, what the hell did she expect, a party?

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=363636] kit;; Crowkit the apprentice words;; 229 notes;; lol at the clan.
Why was his sister sad? Crowkit had watched the whole thing, hiding in the nursery, black head just peeping out. She'd run off after his big brother was made a warrior. Maybe this was something special the last apprentice did to become a warrior. Yeah, probably.
When his brother scooped him up, the kit made an 'oof' sound, wriggling. "Hey! I can walk Fireclaw!" Crowkit protested as he was placed under the branch, his fur all poofed out. All those hours of his mother grooming him down the drain.
One thing the kitten did hope was becoming Ashenanarchy's apprentice. Yeah, that was what he wanted. He'd spent a few days a week in Ashenanarchy's den, helping the elders and their sore pawpads, the queens and their milk, and even helped his sister when she first came back.
"Yeah... Ashenanarchy's apprentice." |
[/color] The tom nodded, speaking a little louder than he would have liked. The young tom looked up at Shadestar, and imagined him as his father. He imagined Crowstar standing there the tom who's namesake he had inherited. "Yeah... Ashenanarchy's apprentice... That's what I wanna be."[/color] The tom whispered to himself, blue eyes looking up at his leader. He wished his father were here to see this.[/color][/td][/tr][/table][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Words: 193
Poppyclaw watched her daughter leave the camp, her head just turned and watched her go. Her intuition told her not to go after her. That was a job only one cat could fix in the entrie world. That was the cat Dustpaw loved most, Drydusk. She walked up to the center of the clearing with Flamekit at her side. Flamekit went and sat beside Cowkit while her mother stayed at the edge of the circle.
Ashenanarchy had spoken with Shadestar earlier that day, as well as Poppyclaw. Crowkit had potential to be the next medicine cat, and he had no apprentice. He came and sat beside Poppyclaw and sat down, his ice blue eyes fixated on the kitten who would become his next apprentice. He looked at Shadestar and sighed inwardly.
Dreambreaker sat farther back than the two other cats, Poppyclaw, and Ashenanarchy. She wanted an apprentice badly, especially young Ravenkit. She showed potential, but not as much potential as her sister, Flamekit. Flamekit was the one who attacked Ravenkit that one day. She didn't think she had the willpower to have an apprentice as good as this one promised to be.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=171717] the count;; 211 the cat;; Shadestar the involved;; ShadowClan the notes;; i don't want to wait any longer. i'm finishing the ceremony.
Shadestar eased his muscles as he saw the apprentice return with Drydusk. Shadestar gave her a dagger-like look, and then looked at Drydusk. "Thank you, Drydusk. Dustpaw, you are to see me after the ceremonies are finished," Shadestar flicked his tail, signalling that he wouldn't allow protest, welcomes, or any other words from the two cats.
"Continuing from where we were interrupted.." Shadestar started, looking down at the three kits below him. "By naming apprentices, we show that ShadowClan will survive and remain strong. Ravenkit," Shadestar started with a different apprentice. Ravenkit went before the tree Shadestar sat at, and cast a look up at him. Ready. "from now on you will be known as Ravenpaw! Pinestep, you have been ready for an apprentice. You will be Ravenpaw's mentor,"
"Ravenpaw, Ravenpaw!" The Clan called, as Pinestep walked forward, and touched noses with Ravenpaw. They both went back into the crowd of cats.
"Flamekit," Flamekit walked to where Ravenkit just stood. "from now on you will be known as Flamepaw! I will mentor Flamepaw, and I shall teach her the ways of StarClan's noble code." Shadestar jumped down from his perch, and touched noses with young Flamepaw. He didn't know if she's like him as a mentor. He knew that most cats were upset with him, because of he wasn't Drydusk. Whatever.
"Flamepaw, Flamepaw!" Flamepaw returned to the crowd of cats, as an apprentice.
"The last kit we will name is Crowkit," Shadestar meowed, jumping back up to his tree. "Crowkit, from now on you shall be known as Crowpaw! Ashenanarchy, you have been ready, and have requested this kit to be your apprentice. Crowkit, from now on, you shall be known as Crowpaw. The rest of your ceremony shall be completed at the Moonpool with the Clan's medicine cats,"
Shadestar let the cheering go down for the kit, and then let there be silence. "Remember, I encourage warriors to choose mates. And, all cats on the territory that you found are to be brought to ShadowClan camp, whether you must use force or not. The more recruits to the Clan we have, the better. That includes all trespassers, who will be placed in our vacant prisoner den,"
Shadestar bowed his head, and then waited. "New warriors, go out on your silent vigil. Dustpaw, see me in my den," With a flick of his tail, dismissing his cats, he got down from the tree, and retreated into his den, waiting for Dustpaw.
