She was the newest apprentice in Windclan, along with her two sisters, Flowerpaw and Daisypaw, who were with her now. She looked at the two of them, and their mentors, and her mentor, also her cousin, Orangesky. "Come on slowpokes!" Hidepaw giggled sharply, jumping up in the air, running around in circles. She was so looking forward to this today; her first hunt EVER, with her new mentor too! She ran forward, and there were all the rabbits. Hidepaw grinned, getting down into a low crouch. She LOVED rabbit.

[bg=000000][cs=7] The black deputy slowly stalked over the moors silently, downwind of her prey. Little Hidekit, who huanted her dreams so much on the journey to the mountains was now an apprentice, and she was looking a little cocky. This will be FUN! the deputy thought, continuing to stalk towards the patrol. She wasn't exactly sure if Orangesky could see her, but either way, she was having fun. As she got closer and closer, she began being more stealthy. She was about three taillengths away now. With that, she pounced on Hidepaw, trapping her under the deputy's weight. "And never let your guard down. If you had been listening, you would have heard me." With that, she got off the she-cat and looked to Flowerpaw. "Your mentor said she would be along when she could. She had things to take care of. Until then, she said you are to train under myself along with your sister Daisypaw, so you do not fall behind." She looked to Orangesky, gave him a smile, and looked to the sky.

Her orange eyes stared back up at Nightfire's own pair, and Hidepaw saw she looked a lot like Nightfire. Hidepaw shrugged it off and giggled. "Well, I am showing a lot more interest in learning to hunt than my sisters. I can't wait, I love rabbit!" Hidepaw grinned, but then stopped. "But, mother did say we aren't Windclan, therefore we might not have the right parents to make us run really fast like you Nightfire." Hidepaw smiled to herself, wriggling a little as Nightfire got off. Hidepaw rolled over, and flexed her claws. She knew it was going to happen, but she didn't have time to react, the silly young apprentice that she was. Hidepaw opened her mouth slowly, taking in the scents around her. She could smell rabbit, mouse, some funny herbs and... EAGLE?! Hidepaw's bright eyes scanned the sky, and she narrowed her eyes and the eagle hovering above. "Nightfire, eagle." Hidepaw hissed, although she knew it would do no good. The eagle had seen them; he had much better eyesight than any cat. And now he was flying in their direction.

[bg=000000][cs=7] Hmm.... I learned how to hunt these in the mountains... Hidepaw, I know it's dangerous, but I'll be right behind you. If we want to catch this, we need bait, and you're the most excited about it. Go out a few tail-lengths away from me. The eagle should target you, seeing as you are small, easy prey for it. Orangesky, Daisypaw, Flowerpaw, this will be a joint effort. I need all of you to take this thing down." As Hidepaw did as she was told, the eagle most certainly started for her. Nightfire's heart pouinded in her ears as she watched the eagle soar for Hidepaw. When it was close enough tot he ground and in close enough range, Nightfire let out a large yowl. "NOW!" And she pounced on the eagle, sinking her claws and teeth into the eagles back as the others on the patrol followed, sinking their claws and fangs anywhere int he eagle hey could.

She hated being small, despite being the oldest left in her litter. As expected, the eagle began to swoop towards the black apprentice. As if in slow motion, Hidepaw spun her head around, and the eagle was almost upon her, but Orangesky, Flowerpaw, Daisypaw and Nightfire all leaped upon it, bringing it to the ground in a squawking mess. Hidepaw let herself collapse to the floor in shock and catch her breath. She rolled onto her back, and the sun caught her forehead again, making it glow. Hidepaw noticed it this time, going cross-eyed just to try and look at it. "Um, Nightfire, why is my head glowing?" She said, rather curious, almost walking into Nightfire's leg due to her being cross-eyed.

Blood and feathers stained Nightfire's pelt, but she looked down at the apprentice, trying to answer the she-cat's question. "Well, well, well.... It appears like you have a mark on your forehead that only appears in sunlight." She narrowed her orange eyes, thinking to herself. Just like Blackpaw's butterfly only shows up in the moonlight.... Then, she opened her eyes fully and remarked, "It's shaped sort of like a tree as well! How wondrous!" She licked the apprentice's forehead, making the mark a tad darker so it wasn't glowing as much. "There!" Now it won't distract you! Well, at least until it dries. Haha."

"That's kinda strange. I've never ever heard of a cat who's head lights up... Am I just weird?" Hidepaw giggled, before the scent of young rabbit distracted her. She rolled back over, and eyed the young rabbits sitting around. THey looked so cute, so fluffy, so... tendeeeer. Hidekit looked up towards Nightfire, letting her do the teaching before she messed up herself.

[bg=000000][cs=7] Nightfire looked in the direction Hidepaw had directed. "Good spotting, Hidepaw." Then, she saw the mother. "Alright. You three apprentices wait until I'm done, and hunt the way I did. After I get the mother, the babies will be scared, and may try to scatter. But, babies aren't as fast as adults, and their fear makes them clumsy. So, they should be easy." She crept up almost silently, and let her paws brush the grass before she shot off after the mother over a hill. The babies stood there in a huddle, shaking.

"Oh great Starclan I can't do it... They're too cwoot." Hidepaw said under her breath, her eyes sparkling. But they were food. They were prey, she was predator. But could she kill those adorable little helpless animals? She shook her head, and shot off the ground, straight towards them. She had to close her eyes as she bit down onto one's neck, and it squealed in pain. "I... I'm sorry..." Hidepaw said under her breath as she felt the baby rabbits life ebb away.

"You may think I have no heart towards these rabbits, or any of our other prey. But, to find anyhting thing on these moors is hard, and even harder to catch it. So, we have to get what we can when we can just to keep our clan, and ourselves eventually, fed. Now, everyone,m let's get the prey back to camp." Thank you starClan.. With that, she picked up the eagle and started to head off towards the camp, the other cats behind her picking up the rabbits.
