[twilight]
Kitten: Ashenpaw Who: Sandfire, preferably. Words: 230 Notes: COBWEBS!
A shady siamese figure trotted around the pines. His ice blue eyes caught on something sparkling with frozen morning dew. He shook his coat against the cold, and trotted forward. It was a very good supply of cobwebs! A very good supply indeed! He crept forward carefully, inspecting the cobwebs. There was only one spider, but five large webs. He brought his ash colored paw up and gently batted the spider away, and swirling the cobwebs around his paw. He wasn't to far from camp, so he limped quickly back into camp. His eyes were beaming. Today was a good day. He could smell warm weather on it's way. The sun was already rising and warming up ShadowClan territory. He limped into the medicine cat den, and went to the area where they kept the extra herbs.
He laid the swath of cobwebs down carefully with the couple of others balles of cobwebs. Around im, some herb piles were larger than others. They were running low on Poppy, Catmint, and borage. Well, he'd just have to go find some! He was in a good mood, and he trotted out of the medicine cat den to see a fiery pelt entering camp. His mentor! "Sandfire!" He curled his tail in greeting, and he flicked his whiskers in happiness. He hadn't been this happt in a long while.

The day was a bit calmer than most, her brother wasn't any worse than yesterday- and some even seemed a tad bit better. It wouldn't last- from what she could tell with Crowstar. She had just gotten back from camp with a small bundle catmint- it had just started to grow in, Newleaf was coming soon. Her yellow eyes were a bit glazed over, it was a bit hard to think lately. Her mind was swarmed with worries over Blackpaw, Twilightstar's warning haunted her pawsteps sometimes. And her brother... She didn't really have anyone other than th-
"Sandfire!"
The voice tore through her mind, like the shattering of the stained glass in her eyes. She moved her head, ear ears flicking towards her apprentice. Good old Ashenpaw! He was a great kit, her little apprentice. She smiled, pelt shivering off the cold of the wind for the shelter she was now in, with the sun starting to heat up camp. She trotted over to him, nodding, and set down the herbs where they belonged. "You look happy," she stated, with a purr, feeling a bit more lighthearted.
A cough made her left ear flick. She knew it was her brother, but she brushed it off. He was fine, as long as he didn't stop breathing. "What's making you all the more chipper today, Ashenpaw?" She asked, smiling lightly. It was good for young cats to not be so drowned in work all the time. It was good for apprentices to be happy and excited. Right now she felt like no one was getting enough of that.

[twilight]
Kitten: Ashenpaw Whjo: Sandfire Words: 111 ; Sorry. >> Can't do it right now with him. XD Notes: WHOOOOH! Whooooh!
He blinked his eyes a few times before hearing his mentor speak.
What's making you so chipper today?
"I'm not actually sure." he confessed, flicking his tail. He licked his paw and brought it over his ears. He was happy today, that was true. But, he didn't really have a reason to be happy, with all that was going on. He wondered ig maybe, just maybe, he was going crazy right now. "I am not sure at all. I think maybe it's the fresh scent of Newleaf on the breeze, or the huge swath od cobwebs I found this morning. Or, it might be the sunshine." He gave a little laugh and shook his head, flicking his ears back and forth as his eyes were closed.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=CC7722] "Good! We won't need to collect cobwebs for a while now. We'll be ready even if a twoleg monster stormed through camp," she purred happily, flicking her tail. "You're doing a really great job, Ashenpaw." Her whiskers flicked as she looked over her shoulder as more coughing sounded from the little moss and reed nest her brother was in. The tom wasn't doing well- and with Heatherfur and her kits all ready dead and Fogclaw not far behind... Well, she was just a touch worried.
She glanced with sun-colored eyes at her apprentice once, and trotted over to Stripetail, who's eyes were shut tight. Even if Sandfire was scared of getting sick- and she was deathly scared since she heard that Icefur was dead- she still pressed her nose to his forehead, feeling the heat of a fever rushing from his pelt. She lifted her head.
"But we're going to be out of feverfew at this rate. Not that it seems to be doing much. I'm glad you're happy today Ashenpaw. You should go find yourself something to eat, you deserve a pawful of the best tasting prey in the pile." Her voice betrayed her wariness, making her sound tired. But there was a glimmer of hope in her eyes. If Ashenpaw could find light these days, maybe something good really was going to happen.
