[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=black] Kit - Crowstar the fatherly feeling?/i] Words - Strange, my muse is longer when I talk to Sam <3 377 Notes - Eeeeeeeee this is gonna be hard. Also talking to my crush on MSN <3333
Crowstar lay on the floor, and looked at Shadewing. He sighed. He knew what he was thinking. He thought he'd chosen Drydusk because he was more liked. But, as leader, he was not to be biased. He had chosen Drydusk for his intelligence.
"Shadewing, I know you are angry. You shouldn't be. I know you aspire to be leader, I know your brother does to, and that is because of you. You may not think this, but he looks up to you." Crowstar said. "And I gave you both my kits as a test. I want you to see what you were like as kits. What you could have been like. And they paths you chose to make you who you are now."
Crowstar watched Shadewings every body movement, every time his fur bristled and every time his paws met the ground. "A great leader does not just need strength, he needs intelligence, like how to avoid getting into an all out war with another clan. He has to be compassionate, to care for others, and he has to understand his clan fully." Crowstar said, standing up to his full height, just a little taller than Shadewing.
"You need to understand something Shadewing. I know your father was not of the clan. I have no idea if my family was. I was such a tiny kit when they were all ruthlessly killed by another clan which not a soul has told me who." Crowstar said, his soft blue eyes looking into Shadewing's hard ones. "As leader, I do not feel any grudge, because that is not the way. You need to let go of your ambitions before you can truely become a great leader. I can't pick both of you to be Deputy now, can I?" Crowstar sighed. He could smell Grethpaw waiting outside.

Abyssus: [atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=000000] Count: 325 Warrior: Shadewing the ambitious Involved: ShadowClanners in camp Notes: Shadewing refuses to leave his ambitions.
Shadewing paused. There was nothing to argue about in what he said. "If I let go of my ambition, I'm but an empty shell. Ambition is was makes us live Crowstar. Without ambition, there are no goals, there are no joys. Without ambition, you just survive." Shadewing said, turning his gaze away from Crowstar's, and out of the den. "You're nothing without something fueling you along. No ambition means you're content. Kitty-pets are the things that lack ambition. They only care about loafing around, it's all they know, they have nothing they want. Every cat has his own ambitions.. and telling somebody to quit at it is like killing someone a little bit on the inside, letting their conscience rip themselves apart over time, until you make yourself an enemy.. I keep my aspirations and ambitions close. Ambition is a word that is so worn and torn apart that it means evil now.. but that's not what it is. Every cat who is alive has some kind of ambition. You always will. Some are just more powerful or bold than others. I can't let my ambitions go until I have achieved them Crowstar." Shadewing meowed. "It's been great talking to you, but Gretchpaw is likely restless outside. Just know that I am who I am. I plan to work hard, train my apprentice well, and forget about Drydusk.. You did entrust me with your own son, so I won't make him hate who I do. And I won't make him restless either. Now go back to sleep.. isn't that what Sandfire said?" Shadewing said, bowing his head, and then trotting out.
Luckily he wasn't too close to Crowstar. He could have gotten sick, with Crowstar's condition. I just wish that someone understood how much this means to me.. Shadewing thought, walking up to Gretchpaw. "So, what do you want to do?"

Silktail: [atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=black] Kit - Crowstar the fatherly feeling?/i] Words - 322 fail Muse - Fair to good ish. Notes - Y U NO LISSEN PROPER LIEK?/?1!
Crowstar looked at Shadewing. "Some cats ambition will hurt others. And even kill others." He said simply, dismissing him with the flick of a tail.

Grethpaw was waiting outside eagerly. He stood tall and proud. Shadewing may not be leader for the day, but he was the best cat EVER. End of story.
Grethpaw listened to his father talk to Shadewing. He was right. Ambition could kill others, it could harm them greatly too. He thought of the stories his mother had told him of ambitious cats who had killed others to get to where they were, and he had a feeling that Blackpelt was like that.
But Grethpaw was still a young and innocent flower, unpoisoned by the world around him. He shot a look over to his sister, and withheld a laugh. She was picking out ticks from Goldenpelt's fur, and he closed his eyes, shaking his head.

Dustpaw looked at her brother. Lucky git got to do nothing while his mentor was being talked to. Dustpaw sighed, almost sneezing on Goldenpelt's fur. She picked off most of the ticks, and stretched out.
"Done... Finally..." She yawned, blinking her green eyes in boredom.
~ Shadows ~ Are ~ Deceiving ~ You ~
Grethpaw watched his mother walk into the Nursery. He wasn't going to get more brothers and sisters, was he? He sighed, it must be for Mosskit. Mosskit would be an apprentice soon, and he figured Poppyclaw would mentor him.
But it wouldn't be the first time he could have been wrong.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=000000] Count: 233 Warrior: Shadewing the ambitious Involved: ShadowClanners in camp Notes: Sorry if I call Grethpaw Gretchpaw: I have the name 'Gretchen' stuck in my head.
"Grethpaw?" Shadewing repeated. "Would you rather rest as I teach you the warrior code, or do you want to learn it on our way to hunt? If you don't want to hunt today, we will tomorrow.. regardless, we're learning the warrior code today. It's one of the most important parts of being a warrior, after all." Shadewing meowed. "No matter how good you are at hunting or fighting, the knowledge of the warrior code surpasses both."
Shadewing twitched his ears. Crowstar never will understand how I feel.. And, Drydusk. I don't think he's looking up to me anymore with all the abuse I've been taking today. Shadewing stood tall over Grethpaw. "By the way, don't get a smirk on your face about your sister.. you're cleaning the dens tomorrow." Shadewing said with a crack of a grin. Shadewing knew the dens hadn't been cleaned in a few days, and the moss was starting to dry up. The elder's den was probably soiled too. "But since that's a big job to do on your second day, I'll help you find the moss." Yes, moss was scarce during the winter.. That's why Shadewing was helping. And if there was nothing soft to be found in the territory, Shadewing would look for soft things in the carrionplace: but only as a last resort.
